Why Autumn is the Best Time for Painting

Why Autumn is the best time to paint

Autumn is definitely the time of year that we are filled with inspiration for our artwork. We started to consider why Autumn is the best time to paint.

1. The Colours!

Autumn is certainly the time the world looks its best. The leaves becoming red and golden, the fierce sunsets and the vegetables that are in harvest at this time of year, pumpkins, apples - all these gorgeous tones! Next time you go for a walk, make a mental note of the colours you see and when you next have a chance to paint use only the palette of the colours you noted.

2. It’s getting cold!

What better time to cosy up inside and get creating! Make yourself a cup of tea, pop on a scented candle and just spend some time creating. Forget about the outcome of the first piece you create and just enjoy the process.

3. Inktober

Inktober is 31 drawing prompts across 31 days every October to get people drawing. There aren’t any rules, apart from trying to keep your drawings in ink. It’s great to follow on Instagram how everyone interprets every prompt differently.

4. Christmas is coming!

So this means there are lots of reasons to get creating - you can make your own Christmas cards, decorations, candle holders! A lot of this involves up-cycling old materials so is a sustainable way of doing Christmas as well.
